VAT advisor review responsibilities
This guide describes the product, legal, and responsibility boundaries for the Premium VAT report advisor review.
Product offering
Premium users get one 45 minute VAT report review per quarter with a Receiptu partner tax advisor, subject to limited first come, first served slots. The allowance renews when the next quarter begins.
The review is designed to:
- Build trust in the Receiptu VAT report.
- Give users an open door to ask questions before filing.
- Help users understand the numbers, categories, missing data, and next checks in their VAT report.
- Create a clear path for follow-up questions and notes after the review.
A quarter's session does not roll over, so it has to be booked while the quarter is open. Cancelling a booked session returns it, so it can be rebooked on another slot in the same quarter.
Eligibility
The user must have an active Premium subscription when booking and when the session happens. If the user downgrades, cancels, or otherwise loses Premium access before the session, the booking is suspended until Premium is restored.
If no session slot is available near a VAT deadline, the user cannot book a session for that time. Slots are limited and first come, first served.
Advisor scope
The partner tax advisor may give formal help based on their tax knowledge during the session. The session is focused on reviewing and explaining the Receiptu VAT report, answering questions, and identifying what the user should check before filing.
Receiptu facilitates the review, but Receiptu does not become the user's tax advisor and does not submit VAT returns.
User responsibility
The user remains responsible for:
- Uploading complete and accurate receipts and invoices.
- Reviewing OCR output and correcting incorrect totals, VAT amounts, dates, categories, or income and expense classification.
- Deciding what to submit to the Belastingdienst.
- Filing on time.
- Keeping their official accounts complete and compliant.
Receiptu responsibility
Receiptu prepares the VAT report and facilitates the advisor review. Receiptu may use feedback from the review to improve the product and support follow-up questions.
Receiptu does not provide monetary compensation for VAT filing outcomes, penalties, late filings, missing user data, user-entered errors, misunderstood advice, or decisions made after the session.
How the session takes place
The session is a video call. Booking a slot creates the meeting and sends the join link to the user by email, and it is also shown on the booking in the app. The calendar invite attached to the confirmation email carries the same link. The attendee's email address is shared with Google as a participant of that meeting, and the meeting is removed if the booking is cancelled. Cancelling and rebooking produces a new link, and the previous one stops working.
Temporary advisor access
With explicit user consent, the advisor may receive temporary access to the user's Receiptu account through an access link that expires after 24 hours. This access is intended only for reviewing the VAT report and related account data needed for the booked session.
The advisor may write session notes. The advisor may also ask the user for permission to record the session for follow-up and quality purposes.
Language
Advisor review sessions are offered in English.
